Frequently Asked Questions
I passed my driving test after 1997 can I drive your motorhome?
Yes you can. Anyone with a full UK driving licence can drive our motorhome as it has a maximum weight of 3500kg
Can I bring my dog?
Yes you can. We realise your dog is just as much as part of the family as anyone else and we allow you to bring them with you on your holidays. You should ensure they do not sit on the beds or seats and there is a small additional charge payable of £50 per hire. We do have a maximum limit of 2 dogs per hire though this is flexible depending on the breeds – for example 2 large breed dogs just wouldn’t fit in our vehicles but 3 small dogs may! Our motorhomes are deep cleaned between ALL hires to ensure our high standards of cleanliness are maintained.
Can I buy a motorhome holiday as a gift for someone else?
We can supply personalised gift vouchers to the value of £50, £100, or £250. These gift vouchers can be used by your chosen recipient against the cost of motorhome hire with MotorHome It Now subject to availability.
Gift vouchers cannot be used for payment (in part or in full) of the damage/security deposit. You should ensure that the recipient is willing/able to pay the £600 damage/security deposit by either cheque or bank transfer.
How can I pay?
The Deposit must be by credit/debit card, the balance can be paid by Direct Bank Transfer or by credit/debit card. There are no fees for using either of these payment methods.
Do your vehicles have a mileage limit?
No. You can holiday without the worry of exceeding mileage limited or incurring extra charges for doing so.
Can we pick up/drop off the motorhome outside your standard times?
We try to be as flexible as possible on the pick-up/drop off times however the times we have as standard allow us time for the Motorhome to be returned in the morning and then be cleaned and inspected prior to leaving on its next adventure later that day.
We take great pride in making sure each and every one of our hires is perfect, both with the experience of hiring from us and with the standard of our vehicles. We’ll do our absolutely best to accommodate your requests where we are able.
Can you offer help and advice on local sites and attractions?
We’d only be too happy to make some recommendations on local places to see and attractions to do. The New Forest, Devon and Cornwall are such wonderful places to visit.
On our recommendations pages you’ll find some handy information on local sites and attractions. They are all impartial and we take no payments in any form for our recommendations.
We’d be happy to discuss your holiday plans, why not drop us an email and let’s start the ball rolling!
When can I collect the motorhome?
Your Motorhome will be made ready for the time agreed and we will have a member of staff booked to carry out your Motorhome handover.
When do I have to return the Motorhome?
We expect you to return the Motorhome at the time agreed. Sorry we do insist on you being punctual as we want to make sure the vehicle is fully prepared for the next group to enjoy their holiday.
How long should I allow for the handover at the beginning of my holiday?
If it’s your first time with a motorhome we would like to spend at least an hour with you running through the fittings, so you feel comfortable and if you feel you need longer that won’t be a problem.
Can you collect me from a Railway Station or Airport?
Yes of course we can, there is a charge for this service but one of our representatives can be waiting with a sign board at the station entrance or at the arrivals gate at the airport to greet you. At London Gatwick airport we can even carry out the full handover at our office next to the airport so there is no long transfer back to our main motorhome site this saves you time on your holiday.
Can I smoke in the motorhome?
Sorry but we have a strict NO SMOKING policy.
How does the insurance work?
Our motorhomes carry comprehensive motor insurance for the UK mainland which can be extended to Western Europe, this is to cover damage to the vehicle or to third parties. If there is damage to the motorhome and the accident was your fault, your liability is the first £750, in the case of damage caused due to the third party we will retain the excess until it is agreed it is the other parties fault (unfortunately many people say it wasn’t their fault and it turns out to be their responsibility once the facts are checked). For overhead damage (eg from trees) you are liable for the first £1500. For write off or theft you are liable for the first £1500. Please note acts of negligence or abuse are completely your responsibility.
Why do I have to pay a £750 damage deposit?
This is the insurance excess during the hire and is fully returnable on completion of your holiday as long as the motorhome is returned undamaged, reasonably clean with the waste and toilet empty.
